Alice Kahle, Ph.D.
Dr.Kahle has worked with children and families for more than fifteen years and has been a licensed, practicing psychologist for more than ten years. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Louisiana State University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical child/pediatric psychology at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She worked as a pediatric psychologist at one of the top children's hospitals in the nation, The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and has written book chapters, co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles, and developed professional education programs on the psychosocial aspects of chronic illness and disability in childhood. Alice is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society of Pediatric Psychology, and Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Working from a theoretical orientation that emphasizes developmental and cognitive/behavior approaches, she provides clinical services to children, adolescents, and families. Dr.Kahle is also a member of the Governor's Task Force on Youth Suicide Prevention and provides crisis intervention services in Northern New Mexico. She enjoys public speaking and frequently presents workshops and didactic programs for parents, educators, and health care providers. Dr.Kahle has extensive training and experience conducting psychological evaluations with children and adolescents. She takes an individualized approach to each assessment and works from a practice philosophy that emphasizes competencies and strengths, and reflects the unique needs of children and adolescents. Dr.Kahle possesses a deep respect for the role of culture, spiritual beliefs, and ethnic heritage in shaping personal and family values. She uses assessment findings to empower families with recommendations that are practical, solution-focused, and incorporate appropriate research knowledge.
